Hasu is one of the July birth flowers. Flower language, “Eloquence”. We eat lotus root. Crunchy is very good.

Oh yeah, the kanji of the Lotus flower… man, this takes me back to the “botany lesson” of “Remembering The Kanji 3” and all those plant and tree related kanji included in it…
I would say my favorite flower is the Orchid (national flower of Colombia hehe :B), although I don’t quite remember if there is even a kanji for it. Anyways, very cool kanji drawing, thanks for sharing! 😀
Thanks for comment.
“Remembering The Kanji 3″ is very interesting. Is it popular book for people who want to remember kanji?
Orchid, It’s beautiful!! I want to write this kanji.
Remembering The Kanji is actually not very popular (which is a shame), but it is the most useful resource I’ve ever found for learning, reviewing and remembering the Japanese kanji. The method it’s based on is a bit weird, but it’s very, VERY powerful; MUCH more powerful than just drilling by hand endless times and relying on rote memorization. If you wish you can read about it here: http://www.squidoo.com/how-to-learn-kanji
By the way… are you from Japan? 😀
Thanks for reply. Yes, I’m from Japan. I see the site that you introduce, it’s very interesting for Japanese, too. The Kanji is very interesting. I’m grad that you like Kanji.
